Correct Name For New Born Red-Tail Boa Babies
Hello There!

I have a female red-tail boa who is pregnant and about to give birth to her first batch of live babies. I have looked around, and I have gotten a few different answers. Snakelets? They give birth to live babies, so the correct term wouldn't be hatchlings because boas don't lay eggs.

Anyone that knows the correct term for newborn baby red-tail boas, will be very much appreciated! Also, how many (like an estimate) babies can I expect her to give birth to?

Thanks for any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading. Have a good day. I look forward to any replys... :)

For her first clutch, I'd say expect about 15-20 babies. But do keep in mind that they can have anywhere from 10-80 babies at a time!! So make sure you have a plan for all those babies.

As for the correct term ... I never really thought about it like that ... They don't lay eggs, but baby red tails are still called hatchlings lol. Perhaps we should make up a name for them?

The most I personally have ever had on the 1st litter was depends on the size of the mom and when she stopped eating.
