Age?

He looks like a young adult in the pics. Isit just the camera or is he older?

BTW very nice looking snake!

bayka 05-30-2007 09:45 AM

Hey Ranger,

It is the camera. In the first photo particularly, he/she (haven't had it sexed yet) looks really big, but it's still an infant. It's about 40-45cm long. I haven't measured it exactly yet. Only had it for a couple of weeks. But it's a good eater, and has a cool personality ahah.

I think it's about 5-6 months old? Growing really quick! Showing signs of shedding, so will probably burst out within the next week.

Ranger 05-31-2007 03:11 AM

Ya

Ya, i thought it looked huge in the first pic...IS GODZILLA!!!
lol

then the other 2 pics he just looks like a "kid"

Ya, mine i have only gotton to strike at her meal once, although i havent tried anything to get her to keep doing this, i dont mind if she doesnt stirke. I put her in a dixie cup like on scuba tims shed video and leave her with the mouse overnight and its gone.

bayka 08-12-2007 04:19 AM

How old?
Ummmm 5-6 months I suppose.
Growing pretty quick. And going through a colour change, I'm noticing.

Bayka.

Ranger 08-12-2007 09:38 PM

Looks 100% like mine lol even has the same yellow stripe on tail (mines longer though)

Dave 08-25-2007 02:45 PM

hey do you guys wiggle the mouse in front of it do u just leave it, cos i wiggle it and it strikes within a few seconds (sometimes), u'v gotta be careful though, once i dropped the mouse and he almost got my hand, very traumatic...

Ranger 08-27-2007 04:51 AM

I kinda push the mouse in her hide box to make it look like it comes into her territory and she thinks its intruding and beats that mouse up like its her last meal lol.

bayka 08-29-2007 10:00 AM

Yeah, I have to use a pair of chopsticks to push it around. I just make sudden moves with then he/she snaps it up nice and quick :-)

friky 09-06-2007 11:40 AM

LIVE feed

I do not feed frozen. Well for starters, in SA we do not get frozen feed (I have never seen it in the pet shops). What I do is stun the mouse (pick it up by it's tail and flick it behind the head), depending on how hard you flick it the mouse still kicks it's legs. The snake goes for the movement so no more close coals. The only problem is if the snake takes to long the mouse will wake up and bite the snake, it is a risk I took and it bite my snake, the snake did not know what to do and that was the first time she rapped properly so now I gust chuck in the mouse

raptor667 09-06-2007 07:11 PM

thought you'd find this funny....I was offering her the mouse...she got the mouse...but i got the "hug"

chrstnsnpt 10-07-2007 10:38 PM

How do I send you a picture of my snake. Pat

raptor667 10-08-2007 06:40 PM

To post pictures your going to need to host them on a site first.

I use photobucket. It's free and unlimited space and it's easy to use.

www.photobucket.com

all you do once the account is open is click upload on the main screen and select a picture from your harddrive. Once it's uploaded view the images in your album. Next to the image are 4 codes

Email & IM
Direct Link
HTML Tag
IMG Code

The IMG code is the one you want, you just click on the box the code is in and it copies the code to your clipboard. Pop on here and right click your mouse and select paste...and thats it. then you can show of your pictures.

Some good looking snakes....Love the "big" house for you albino Pine....Was it a custom build or a conversion??????

tmmpin 10-09-2007 04:39 PM

Thanks
Its a custom built cage. I am trying to find more things to put in there but I'm not going to spend 20 bucks on a little log.
Its a great cage other then its hard to heat, but the platform in the back makes a great basking spot. What you can't see in the picture is the 3 lights at the top.

raptor667 10-09-2007 07:04 PM

In that case .... welldone to you...down side is my mrs now wants something similar for my snake....lol

tmmpin 10-09-2007 11:09 PM

LOL, better hook her up.

ssgdukes 10-13-2007 04:43 AM

Very creative using old entertainment centers as enclosures for your snakes. I guess they are cheap in the long run and are very pratical. You have just given me an ideal for when it's time to move my boy into a larger home.

I love those, are those the Emeralds? I don't have much knowledge on them yet. There not real common in our area, I never even seen them for sale around here yet.

ScubaTim 10-25-2007 12:43 AM

Those are Chondros (GTP)

tmmpin 10-25-2007 09:24 AM

I have to ask. You got green tree pythons, emerald tree boas, and Amazons.
All out there, not that you have all three types. But anyways, which ones are the tamest, or at least easier to care for.
I been wanting one for awhile now but I want the easier of the 3. What I remember about the Amazons they were really difficult. I think the line was "Buy a snake hook".

chrstnsnpt 11-13-2007 12:37 AM

:? Followed instructions. Got 6 pictures posted on photobucket. It said copy, but when I tried to pop over to here it closes web. Had to go on line again. This is my first computer still need to learn alot. Once it says copy, how do I get back here to download pictures to boatips. Pat

If your using IE 7 of firefox, just open a new TAB...one for here and one for photobucket and just click between them.

If your using IE6 you will need to open IE twice..one here and one in Photobucket.

Switch between the 2 using the ALT+TAB keys.

If your still having trouble let me know and I'll see if I can help further.
