Great looking snake TaRawr.

Roy 09-09-2008 06:54 AM

Yeah, great pattern. 8)

raptor667 09-09-2008 09:54 AM

rare to find one with a full stripe, well done.

tmmpin 09-09-2008 09:54 AM

That is a good looking snake, about how long would you say he is?

raptor667 09-09-2008 09:56 AM

And now for some more pic's of her Royal highness...lol

She's a bit darker than usual as she's just started with orange belly...should get one more feed in before she sheds and will post some more after in her shiny new coat.

The ruler is 2ft long to give you an idea of scale.

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r.../1DSCF0602.jpg
And earning her other name as a Ball python.

tmmpin 09-09-2008 10:00 AM

Great pictures, so what is Queenie up to now about 3 and a half feet?
Love the flooring too, wish I could afford to get that in my house!

raptor667 09-09-2008 10:11 AM

she's just over 3.5 ft....as for the flooring ...I cheated...it lino...not real wood...lol

Thanks for the compliment though.... :D

Roy 09-09-2008 11:03 AM

Yup! Queenie is looking good. :D

ssgdukes 09-09-2008 02:05 PM

Yeah Raptor she is gorgeous. Keep up the good work with her.

lovesnuffles 09-09-2008 06:52 PM

Queenie's getting so big :D And TaRawr, your snake is so cute! If I could say only one thing about Ball Pythons, I believe it would be that they have the cutest faces out of every other type of snake.

ssgdukes 09-10-2008 04:01 AM

Wanted to post another picture to show how big; Big Hurt has gotten. I couldn't get him to stretch all the way out but as you can tell from the picture he is nice sized for being 1 year 6 months old.

http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/100_0712.jpg

Hopefully this recent missed meal won't change his manly figure :)

Roy 09-10-2008 09:00 AM

Here's another baby pic of Ruby. :D

lovesnuffles 09-10-2008 02:32 PM

Damn, Big Hurt is big for his age :? And he looks great :D He looks a little red in that picture =/ Has he always been reddish, or is that just the photo? :?

Thanks lovesnuffles. :D Actually he has always been a little redish and it is getting more noticeable with age. He has several red spots on his back and his head is becoming more of a brownish-red color.

lovesnuffles 09-10-2008 09:10 PM

That is awesome :D I've never seen a red ball python =/

ssgdukes 09-10-2008 10:51 PM

Well he isn't exatcly red is just that his browns are now getting more red in color and his greens are getting lighter in color. But for the most part he is still mostly green and brown with red spots. :D I just realized what I just typed....ok maybe he is getting red :D

lovesnuffles 09-11-2008 03:46 AM

Lmao!! There you go xD

TaRawr 09-13-2008 07:23 PM

My little guy (or girl i really don't know yet...) hasn't been measured yet.. but he ( i'm guessing) is probably about a foot and a half long.. the pic of the tank he's in is only a 10 gal.. soo... that may give more perspective..

How rare is a "full Stripe" ball?? when i hold him tonight i'll try to get a full length pic of his back for everyone so see how pretty he is:):)

ssgdukes 09-14-2008 10:23 PM

I am not sure how rare they are but I am sure tmmpin could probably tell you since he breeds ball pythons.

tmmpin 09-15-2008 08:24 AM

I'm not going to try to guess how rare or common it is.
All I can say is that some stripes are a fluke and others are genetic. If I remember right the clown has a stripe. Also, you have the genitic stripe (kind of a fake sounding name). I want to say there is a third one out there but I can't remember for sure.

raptor667 09-15-2008 09:18 AM

Can't really say how rare the full stripe is but I can tell you how much the price of one is compared to a normal.

Normal Royal python 50
Full stripe normal 250

Bit of a price jump...lol

Roy 09-15-2008 10:43 AM

One of Ruby's siblings has a full stripe.

TaRawr 09-16-2008 02:06 AM

when the guy picked him up after i picked him cause his gorgeous pattern, he was like oh man, we should be charging you200 more for him... he was like i wont tell.. haha so i got him for 45$.

sweeeettttt

Roy 09-16-2008 06:04 AM

The guy that sold Ruby to me wouldn't sell the one with the stripe.

tmmpin 09-16-2008 09:13 AM

Here is a web site with some great examples of genetic stripes.
http://www.newenglandreptile.com/ner...ll-python.html
NERD has a lot going on for them.

ssgdukes 09-16-2008 01:45 PM

Nice pictures tmmpin. Yeah TaRawr I am not sure if this answered your question about how rare it is but at least this gives you an ideal. So now I must ask our resident breeder tmmpin......if TaRawr wanted to produce some snakes that looked like the ones in the picture what type of snake would she need to breed her current snake with?

tmmpin 09-16-2008 07:50 PM

The ones I posted the link for, you would need another genetic stripe or one that is het for genetic stripe.

DennyS 11-10-2008 04:38 PM

Coolest snake EVER!!!!!!
How much does she weigh?

dwg1211 12-03-2008 09:22 PM

thanks... she is cool.. I can't really take credit for that.. I just got lucky..last time I weighed her, a couple of weeks ago, she weighed 26 lbs.. she also ate a 7 pound rabbit.. thing was HUGE.. I probably shouldn't have given her one that big.. took her a while, but she got it down.. I'm thinking she's probably closer to 30 lbs. right now.. gonna clean her enclosure tomorrow.. I'll weigh her while I have her out.... how's your Burm doing? Do you know if it's male or female?.. you should post some new pics.. here are a couple more..
