dwg1211 01-27-2008 03:10 PM

Roy 01-27-2008 09:10 PM

Sleeping in her water bowl is she?
She has some beautiful patterns.

maryjo88 01-27-2008 11:01 PM

sleeping in her bowl
Yeah, she slept in it all night then pooped in it. I guess she needed to loosen things up a bit!
Thanks, I think she is very pretty.

raptor667 03-02-2008 04:14 AM

Mice looking snake, love the pink blush on the cheeks

Roy 03-02-2008 07:19 AM

Yeah, beautiful snake indeed. :)

Thom 03-02-2008 12:41 PM

Pink blush? You talking about my wife or the snake? smiling.
She really is a fantastic snake. Shes gorgeous and very VERY calm. She really loves attention too. Yesterday I spent the whole day working on her new cage (which If Im lucky I will finish in the next couple of days) and I had her cage open for her and she would do whatever she could to be able to watch me. She really cracks me up at times.
Really do LOVE this forum!

dwg1211 03-02-2008 05:31 PM

Nice looking burm, Thom.. here are some new ones of mine.. the one's I took this morning will have to wait a bit, as the kiosk at wal-mart was acting up.. these are pretty new.. I've been reading about how to take better digital pics and I'm using ISO settings and trying to work with light and effects.. hope y'all like...
this is just before her recent shed:
lotta color in this one:
soft, natural light and shadows:
here are a couple with 'special effect':

Thom 03-02-2008 06:37 PM

Shes really gorgeous Doug.

raptor667 03-02-2008 07:35 PM

Nice pics, the photography seems to be coming along really well :D

dwg1211 03-02-2008 09:39 PM

thanks Raptor.. I have more that I took today.. but the cd burner at wal-mart was screwed up.. I'm trying to get some variation.. there are only so many pics you can take of a snake lying on the ground. I got some of her coiled around some flowers.. and some of her in a tree.. (more like her trying to get down from the tree I put her in.. lol)...

... & Saffron thanks you, Thom.. (I get no credit for her beauty.. just her care. 8) )

I'm glad we have another albino burm owner.. we only have a few..

IzzieMonster 03-02-2008 10:38 PM

Nice looking snakes you two...

Thom, welcome to the forum, you have a beautiful snake!! It's good to see that your wife has opened up to her as well :) It's always nice to have a wife that is cool with anything :D

Doug, as always, nice to see your baby girl as well... She is looking fatter these days. Those waskly wabbits are plumpin her up alot 8) She may out weight her daddy pretty soon 8) By the way, nice effects on the pics!!

dwg1211 03-03-2008 01:47 AM

thanks, Christy... you know just how to tickle my tummy. 8)

Thom 03-03-2008 01:55 AM

Smiling well actually Christy my wife has been into snakes longer then I have. Her brother owned a boa when she was younger<<<notice I said younger, like she is still young.....I'm not dumb! :D

Doug does your digital camera have a card in it? If it does why dont you buy a card reader? They are really inexpensive and would pay for itself in no time with the price you are paying taking them to wal-mart.
Just a thought
Whatever you do keep it up I really love your pics :D

dwg1211 03-03-2008 02:27 AM

good idea.. I had a laptop... 'til I dropped it  ... now I'm on the old 'puter... I bought the XP upgrade, online, but the product key won't work... the only way, for now, for me, is to burn a cd @ wallyworld & put 'em on Kodakgallery & one-by-one save them as 'save as' to my hard drive... then upload them to Photobucket, to then post them here.. for all my brethren to see.. (whew!) 8)

Thom 03-03-2008 02:30 AM

Yeah Doug you need to try the card reader. They work off USB so you can use it on any pc and if I remember right you can get them for less then 20 bucks at wallyorld <Wal> lol
Just make sure it will read the size you use

dwg1211 03-03-2008 02:41 AM

you may have made this a lot easier.. and cheaper.. 8) gonna look into that.. thanks for the tip.. I'm not very high-tech.. I only know what I've figured out.

Thom 03-03-2008 02:45 AM

Glad to help in anyway I can.

raptor667 03-03-2008 09:14 AM

One other way....I have a HP printer with a card reader built in, I use the card reader more than the printer to be honest, but the software more than makes up for it.

raptor667 03-03-2008 09:20 AM

Or........plug a Micro USB cable into your PC and into your Camera ( almost all cameras do have them...hope yours has ). Open windows explorer and below your usual drives you should have one called "removable disk". Open this and open the folder inside it too. You should now see all of your photofiles. Just drag and drop them onto your PC....even easier

dwg1211 03-03-2008 10:04 AM

hmmm... thanks.. I'll try that.. :?

Sy 03-04-2008 01:02 AM

a few more pics of Sy, and the last ones are sideways but thats of his enclosure.

Roy 03-06-2008 07:47 AM

Sy is looking good.

tmmpin 03-06-2008 09:28 AM

I see you got the top covered. Is there any air circulation in there?
Nice pictures.

Sy 03-06-2008 05:29 PM

Thanks Roy, hes doin good, there is a humidifier/air exchanger in there as well as a small ection on top that is open, (they say to completely cover it) but i dont trust em, it still keeps humidity at 60-70% and the heat is always constant

tmmpin 03-06-2008 08:43 PM

Got ya, when I seen the pictures I didn't see any open holes thats why I was asking.

Sy 03-06-2008 10:55 PM

i understand what ya meant these were some quick pics from my cell phone since i dont have an actual camera but im going to try n get more photos up of it, im going to be replacing those aspen chips with the desert snow, so itll look different.

well.. I tried what raptor said.. 'cept my photoprinter requires more RAM than this stupid computer has.. also tried the cable/windows explorer thing.. no luck.. BUT.. 8) I DID go buy a card reader.. heh.. of course, I had to go to the manufacturer's website and download a driver.. which was zipped.. and of course, I had no zip file software.. tried 'winzip'.. didn't work.. then tried 'bitzipper'.. TA-DAAA! <whew>.. between deciphering error messages and calling this computer everything I could think of, I need to restock my verbal arsenal.. I used up every bad word I know.. and some I didn't know I knew.. ...after a little break I'll see about posting some new pics.. now I can even view my mpegs on here! :) (big deal, right? hey, this 'puter is to a Ferrari as a bottle rocket is to the space shuttle.. wait.. WORSE! (wasn't considering the shuttle's track record)).. anyway, gonna take my brain out of hyperdrive for a few... thanks, Thom, for the card reader tip.. and Raptor (the reader in the printer would have worked had I more memory, plus, you told me how to use Photobucket).. you guys are a big help..

Sy 03-08-2008 11:05 PM

a pic of sy being anti-social and more of his cage i added more to it and by next week ill have my desert snow, so thatll change

dwg1211 03-09-2008 11:13 AM

looking good, Sy... he's got his own little jungle.. I think I'll add a couple of branches to Saffron's enclosure.. have you thought about adding a background? here are a couple new ones of Saffron..

Sy 03-09-2008 04:29 PM

yea doug i am looking into a jungle themed background since Sy's from africa, cant reallyfind those though ima keep looking around though, and saffron once again what a beautiful snake :D shes getting right big i saw you had mentioned squeezing the poop out of the snake, lol like someone said you better watch she doesnt put the squeeze on you first lol

dwg1211 03-09-2008 05:22 PM

yep.. she's filling out.. with warmer weather approaching she'll be more active since I'll be having her out more.. her metabolism should pick up a bit.. she's got some catching up to do since she was deprived food for long periods before I got her... hope she stays as cool as she is now.. but I'll always be on guard for that 'squeeze'.. even with a 'tame' snake, something could always trigger a surprise feeding response...

tmmpin 03-09-2008 06:07 PM

Just be sure you don't smell like a rabbit when you handle Saffron.
