I heard about those snake that get out and get jobs, now can I get my kids out of the house??

Saffron is about to have the last rabbit in the freezer... www.hare-today.com hasn't had any for a long time, although their site says they do, there's no where to order them on their site.. :?
rodentpro.com want's $239 dollars to ship 6 rabbits! I emailed them and told them they're 'outta their damn minds'... anybody know about any good suppliers? I've been googling all morning and what I'm able to find have nothing to click on or 'add to cart'... may have to go back to jumbo rats (will have to feed 2-3 at a time.. not good for digestion and twice as expensive as rabbits when considering cost per pound) here are some new ones of the girl..

Your little girl is growing up fast. Still very pretty though and I don't think that will change.

If you can't get Wabbits have you thought of Chickens...they are a natural food item for a burmese and as such may tide her over till it's 'wabbit season' again.

Best of luck in finding a supplier for Saffron's dinner, I'm sure you'll find one.

IzzieMonster 04-19-2008 11:33 PM

OMG!!!
She looks twice as big as before!
I can't believe that she's grown so much!
Have you been sticking to the wabbits or are you feeding her the neighbors small children?
What is she like 10-11 feet now?

MainStick 04-19-2008 11:57 PM

Doug, what is your address... My neighbors little pocket dog hasn't stopped barking since thursday.... only slightly kidding.

Christy has it right... wow, she's getting huge and the colors on her are just fantastic.

dwg1211 04-20-2008 12:20 AM

she thanks y'all for the nice comments.. 8) I haven't measured her lately, but I know her weight's coming up.. now that warm weather is here and I can have her out more, I think she'll have a growth spurt.. I brought her home back in November.. it's taken this long to get her to this point since she had been so underfed for so long before.. and not handled or anything... good idea, Christy.. soon I'll bump her up from wabbits to toddlers.. .... or neighbors' yappy dogs.. yeah, Main.. her colors are really poppin' since her recent shed.. can't resist taking pictures when she's like this.. thanks!

Thom 04-20-2008 03:26 AM

When you find another good supplier for the rabbits let me know PLEASE!!!!!!! Hawn is upto the largest rats we can find in the city each week. I want to switch her to rabbits but I cant find anything either.
Oh and by the way..... she is at it again. She is really starting to act a bit pissy at everyone. I had to clean her "condo" out yesterday (which I do every Sat usually) and she was even hissing at me while I was putting her back in the habitat from the tank after I got the habitat cleaned out. As soon as I open the door on her habitat she gets over to it very fast.
I cant imagine her acting like this when she is full grown. What can I do?

Roy 04-20-2008 06:04 AM

I don't know Thom, it's not good that she's cranky again, but a hiss isn't always a cranky sign. Sometimes when I put my snakes down for a walk (sorry, slither) they slither off an let out small hisses as they go off to explore. :?

tmmpin 04-20-2008 10:41 AM

Here is one link I found, not sure if its much help to your rabbit problem or not.
http://www.americanrodent.com/rats.html

After just a couple minutes doing a search I came up with this one.
http://www.prma.org/breeder_rabbits.htm

I hope this helps.

dwg1211 04-20-2008 03:12 PM

man! that first link has super jumbo rats for $3.50 each! (regular jumbos at the pet store are almost $10 each) and free shipping!... who knew?! gotta order a $100 minimum, though.. let's see.. that's about 30 rats.. at about 4 (only $14!) per month, that should last 7 1/2 months! thanks, tmmpin!

Thom 04-20-2008 03:26 PM

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm Doug those arent 3.50 each they are 3.50 for 3 of them. I tried to call the numbers but all I got was a machine for both numbers. Im going to try again tomorrow and see if I can make contact. I started an order and for 90 of them it is just 105.00. Now thats cheap considering I have been paying 8 to 10 dollars apiece for them.
I'll let you know what I find out

tmmpin 04-20-2008 05:27 PM

Glad it helped you out. There are several breeders around here and I did talk to those guys at the last show, I just noticed they said something about rabbits on there.

tmmpin 04-20-2008 05:29 PM

Thom I see what you was looking at, not sure if that means thats how many for the 3.50 or the most they can squeeze in a bag. Let me know what you find out though.

dwg1211 04-20-2008 06:22 PM

wow.. you're right.. I didn't even look at the 'per bag' column... I went straight to the 'order online' to see how far I could go before I found the 'catch'... lol! man... that seems too good to be true! hmmm

Thom 04-20-2008 07:42 PM

Well like i said i am going to try to contact them again tomorrow during reg working hours and see whats up.
Right now Im trying to figure out where Im going to store 90 frozen super jumbo rats. At least I hope they are frozen!
I will def let you know what i find out

MainStick 04-20-2008 08:12 PM

Gett the feeling that the price is per Rat... and for the Super Jumbo's you need to order them in groups of 3.

Though, with a min of $100 purchase, that is still a big pile of frozen Rats.

I did see that RodentPro has a special going on Rabbits... not sure how special it is though.

lovesnuffles 04-21-2008 02:28 PM

Hey, if it's yappy dogs you want, my neighbor's got a bunch >D Of course ... my neighbor is very nasty and I don't want to poison poor Saffron. Those dogs are probably loaded with diseases D=

But I've got toddlers for you ;o My neighbor needs a good scare anyway xD Sassy little #(%&@ ...

Annnd ... as for the rabbits ... My neighbor just had some babies .... I'm going to talk to him ... tell him how much money he could make by raising some of those rabbits for snake food ... Because it is good money O.o And I may be needing some rabbits one day >D

sounds mutually beneficial... good thinkin'!

lovesnuffles 04-22-2008 02:53 AM

Yeah, he raises them for meat anyway, so it's not like I'd be feeding his loving pets to the snake =/ So I'd feel a lot better about it because they're going to die one way or the other and they may as well die to feed my snake rather than sit in a freezer and probably go to waste.

However, if the snake ever got big enough and escaped from the house .... Then I'm in trouble xD Say bye bye to his chickens and his rabbits D=

lovesnuffles 04-29-2008 05:59 PM

My babies <3

http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...tures114-1.jpg

The one you can see really well is my little Houdini. The other one is Aden/Persephone. Houdini used to be smaller than Aden/Persephone! Now it's like, twice that size!! D=

And my mom decided she wanted to feed Houdini because she was scared it would eat my other snake -.-' So she fed it in the tank -.-' Now Houdini is still in feed-mode and he's being very territorial and pissy. I'm kinda scared of him =/

But Aden/Persephone is being a little sweetheart, if not really scared o.o I was playing with it earlier and it was starting to get a bit more comfortable and started climbing up my arm, then it slipped and coiled right back up =/ Oh well, gotta practice I guess :D

I'll take pictures of Aden/Persephone being held later on when I get someone to act as camera-person for me =/

raptor667 04-29-2008 06:29 PM

WOW !...I am so made up for you....not only did you get your old MIA snake back but you also got another one too.

Would say to not feed them in their tank if you can avoid it. As Corns are prone to over eating ( the fact they feed well is why they make a good pet ) You may get one of your snakes attacking the other ones food and then you end up with 2 snakes latched onto the same mouse. Also they can get used to being fed and attack anything that goes in their tank on the off chance it's food.

2 good looking snakes you got there sweetie. :D

MainStick 04-29-2008 06:54 PM

Great looking little Corns.

Your prediction was correct. Get a new corn snake and have it track down and find your old one.

lovesnuffles 04-29-2008 09:38 PM

Haha, yeah, well I wasn't GOING to feed it in the tank. I WAS going to feed it in these little crawfish trays we have.

But my mother took it upon herself to try to "save" the little one from being eaten =/

However, Houdini does look like he's had to have eaten SOMETHING because he's so much bigger =/ Probably bugs or something =/

There are a LOT of lovebugs here D=

raptor667 05-01-2008 01:12 PM

?????????Love bugs??????????

lovesnuffles 05-02-2008 02:06 PM

O.o Yeah, these annoying little black and orange bugs that are completely harmless and have no other purpose except to mess up your car with all their guts o.o

They're called lovebugs because they attatch themselves to their mates and are hard to separate without killing them both =O

raptor667 05-02-2008 06:41 PM

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... makes sense now...I thought you were talking about people on the site and was a tad curious...pmsl

dwg1211 05-02-2008 09:26 PM

are you talking about lady-bugs, snuffles? I hear they're good for your garden.... not sure why..

...& I've heard people refer to herpes as the 'love bug'.. ... one you 'pick up but can't put down'... lol! you stay away from those 'love bugs', girl!

tmmpin 05-02-2008 09:32 PM

If Ajax can't clean it nothing will

raptor667 05-02-2008 11:06 PM

I only know this because my Mother in law is an avid gardener. Ladybirds are good for your garden mainly because, they a carnivorous beetle that feeds most of the time on aphids......little green things that kill roses by ****ing out the sap. A lot of places actually import them as a natural way to kill off pests.

:D

good stuff, raptor.. makes sense.. praying mantis (plural? manti?? :? )
are said to be good, too.. they even sell them in bulk..

...and the boatips education continues... and continues... 8)

raptor667 05-03-2008 02:01 AM

only problem is it's to cold here for praying mantis', amazing animals though.

we had the hottest day of the year so far today.....14C ... whooooo.....lol

Roy 05-03-2008 03:33 AM

Wow... a scorcher mate!

lovesnuffles 05-04-2008 04:37 AM

Hahaha, no, ladybugs are completely different :3 Hmmm ... maybe lovebugs only exist down here in Louisiana o.o

If so, our state totally ****s and we should set a huge bug bomb on top of it O.O

But in fact, I'd be sad to hit ladybugs with my car =( But also happy that we have so many ladybugs around here :D

But anyways, no, lovebugs are little black bugs with one orange dot on their necks and they attach themselves to each other like lovers =/ And I like them ... but not on the windshield of my car D<

Bwahaha, here you go! A picture of the lovebugs:

http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/g...1_love_bug.jpg

Wanna know the crappiest thing about them? They're attracted to white things and my car is white O.O And they mess up your paint >.>

dwg1211 05-04-2008 12:26 PM

my buddy's wife mentioned 'lovebugs' last night (they're from Florida)... I mentioned what you said and we got into a big discussion about them... pretty funny.. 8)

tmmpin 05-04-2008 03:21 PM

dwg, wrong post but on your signature is that the IMG link? Seems to be like it should be just a bit different looking on that link.

dwg1211 05-04-2008 03:43 PM

I was trying what raptor said on the 'signature' thread... supposed to be the 'direct link' in my photobucket album.. I guess I should remove it since it doesn't work.. didn't know what y'all were seeing... any ideas?

raptor667 05-04-2008 08:11 PM

Don't know about you lot but I can see a nice picture of Saffron...and her reflection.

Nice one Doug.

dwg1211 05-04-2008 09:32 PM

thanks raptor... still working on it.. was gonna resize it (make it wider), but this computer is so slow the editing software at photobucket just kills it..

lovesnuffles 05-06-2008 03:41 AM

I see Saffron in your sig O.o ...

The IMG links is what I always use on forums and it always works =/
