Feed Schedule for 1-2 yr old

Last Friday was Storm's 1st Birthday! She is now one years old,. Unfortunately I was not home to celebrate it with her. ;(

I was just wondering what is the general feed schedule for 1-2 year old red-tails? I have her switched to rats now. The last time I fed her was on Feb 11th. She is currenting deep in the blue so I did not attempt o feed her (I have been out of town). So I'm waiting for her to complete shed cycle before feeding her.

I'll measure her then but last I measured her was at 27 inches.

Once a week. It'll be once a week til she's like 4 years old. Then it'll go to every two weeks. Or you could just feed her the day after she poops. Either way.

I feed Lucy every two weeks. She's like three feet now. I will even feed her when she's in blue; she has never given me an issue with it.

My snakes eat while in shed as well ... I never had an issue either

I agree with snuffles...feed the day after they poop! Once they have room in there they want to hunt! (and be careful of thy hands!)

Guys,
I've Made that mistake, Pastel boy tagged me the other day, the first real bad bite from him, but it didn't bleed that bad!!!

She ate, Once she cleared up I fed her and she took it. However, when the eyes are completely covered, she was a bit more defensive and wanting to "see" with her flickering so I just let her be and not try handling her during that part of shed cycle.

So now I'm confused...

You feed weekly, you feed after they do their business, but what if they don't do business on a weekly basis? I've read it can be very individual if you follow the "feed after poop" theory (at least that's what I see it as). But *shrugs*...

If you feed everytime they go, then it won't be on a weekly basis. It'll vary a lot. It won't be a set schedule.

When I first got Lucy, she was not pooping on a schedule AT ALL. It would be months before she pooped and I was worried I was starving her, so I slowly got her on a two week feeding schedule (give one or two days earlier or later). She has been on a relatively good pooping schedule since then. So it works for us. :)
