Need help
I got a red tailed boa about a month ago and I am having the most trouble keeping it humid in the tank. I have a water dish in there and half the tank is covered. Have aspen bedding. Right now I am having to spray the tank down a few times a day to keep it humid enough for the snake to shed. Any suggestions on how to keep it more humid?

It doesn't need to be that humid. I don't even worry about the humidity in my boas' cages and they do just fine. Unless it starts having a problem shedding, then buy a little spray bottle and mist the cage down daily.

That is good to know. When I first got him he hadnt shed completely and it was coming off in small pieces.

Aspen doesn't absorb humidity as cypress mulch does so a change in bedding may help. I have a screen top for Storm and have never ha dissues with hmidity since I have placed the towel over half of it to retain humidity while the other side has the heat lamp. I also have the water dish on the hot side to help maintain humidity. I havne't had too much trouble since I have changed some of my husbandry to deal with tis. I h ave had poor sheds in the past but lately, hasn't been too much of a problem.

And DO live in humid climate so you probalby don't need to do much anyway :D Unlike me out in the high desert of the Rockies...

I really don't worry about the humidity either until Lucy is showing Blue. I find that when I refill the water dish it is pretty much good enough. Right now, I'm waiting on her pooping before I feed her again. She'll be hungry then. :D

And Lucy seems to like the Aspen bedding. When she has issues shedding, she'll let me run her under the bathroom tap and help her a bit.

I often put Storm in her swimming pool and let her soak for 30 mins when she's about to shed or I know she's getting close. That helps alot with shed issues.

how often does snake poo? I have read that is depends on the snake, I would rather get yalls opinion rather then the internet.
