Default Mites are exhausting

I've been cleaning what cages I could today. Mostly everyone got cleaned. Except for the lizards, Brandy, Jack, Whiskey and Sangria, everyone else has been cleaned and treated. And I'll tell you what, that Permethrin treatment I'm doing really works. Sally was eaten alive with mites when I first picked her up today. She was so covered with them that you could barely see HER through all the black!! I'm not joking. Now I can count maybe five left on her. I'm not sure if they're dead or alive, but tomorrow she'll be sprayed again, then they all get cleaned again Tuesday. These mites are gonna be wiped out quicklike!! Then, a nice long rest for me. This really is exhausting. Especially with 17 snakes.

Absolutely not!! I sprayed Sally again last night. Ugh, this ****s. I have to clean their cages all over again tomorrow, as well as the rest of my house because the stupid SPCA is doing a home visit Wednesday and I don't want them to see my house being this dirty. GAH!

Just to make sure....you are wearing gloves for all this
AREN'T YOU!

Other than that happy bug busting....oooo and white paper towels as substrate is great...little buggers show up really clear and you get a good blood splat when you squash them....<evil laugh>....lol

Lmao Raptor .... Sounds like you've made a game out of this o.o!! I wear gloves for the picking up of the devil snakes, but that's all D: I figure, a few germs are good for your immune system >w<

And also, I need to rant!! D:<! I'm in one of those moods and someone please tell me that my work doesn't go unappreciated!! ;.;

So I need to clean out all the cages again today, as well as the dog yard because of the stupid SPCA home visit. But I just don't know the point!! D: Why should I clean the dog yard? They're just gonna mess it up again. Right after I clean it, that blanket will be right back out in the yard again, soaking wet and being ripped apart. Their food tray will be splattered everywhere and off way on the other side of the yard. Thank God they can't move their water tub. I'd die having to fill that thing up so much.

As for the snakes ... Why should I clean the cages today? What good will it do? It'll keep the number of mites down, for sure, but without being able to clean the big cages, what's the point? The mites will still breed, they'll still live and they'll still spread -.-' I can't find anyone to come help Kyle empty the substrate out of those cages I can't do it ... I can barely lift Whiskey's cage normally. Do you know what that kind of struggling would do to my fetus?! O.O

far too much.

Sounds like your gonna have to give in to your limitations and batter some of your friends and/or family to get off their butts and help you.

Face it, your hormonal as hell and they just might need to see a bit of it to get their act together.

Well Snuffles, I have a few cages I can't pick up on my own, so I just get as much bedding out as I can and then take a damp paper towel and rub the cage down. It picks up the rest of the substrate. And, when I'm treating mites, I use paper towels for substrate; I can't remember what you like though.

I hope everything works out. :/
