I decided to try and get him used to feeding in his tank. When I had my python it was never a problem. Last week it was a real pain in the ass getting him back in his tank. He kept striking at me so I decided to feed him in his cage.

He killed the mouse right away but he wasnt eating it. so I decided to leave him alone. I'll go check on him in an hour and see if he has eaten it. Otherwise I will remove the mouse and try again in a few days with a new one

He took the mouse. Good, now I don't have to worry about it

Sometimes they do the weirdest things! And there might not be an explanation...LOL. Lucy is pretty much into a pattern; when she deviates from it, then I get a little worried. But everything will usually work out in the end.

They usually won't not eat from their cage. The only reason we try to talk people out of it is because of cage aggression that sometimes develops. Or the fact that depending on what kind of substrate you use, it shouldn't be ingested. But they'll usually readily feed from their cages.
